Startup diary - jumping with joy

There aren’t many cases which make a software developer jump with joy but once it happens, it’s awesome!

This morning I had a intro/demo call with a sports club that was looking to use Clubs Craft in their day to day operations!

Working on my demo

After last weeks demo, I knew I had to do a better job of showing of what Clubs Craft offers and how it can enhance managing a sports club and also fix a lot of the pain points coaches and club managers experience.

My initial thought soup is new starting to turn into a more coherent 3 course meal (even though I still have to tweak it a lot).

Initial chat

We started with an initial chat about their pain points and general way on how they manage their club and they were very patient with me asking a bunch of questions which seem to be quite random but help me quite a lot with understanding how different sports clubs operate.

After I went through my list while scribbling furiously notes while still listening to them and keeping the conversation going it was time to give them a demo of the current state of Clubs Craft.

A little prep work

Before the meeting I tried to personalize the demo by creating a demo account for their club using their names and some made up emails just to show off how it will look for them. I added some activities I found on their Facebook page and tried to keep a nice flow through the app.

Members, staff, teams, activities, payment… We basically went through the entire app covering a few of their pain points and addressing some other things that are still in development but will make their experience a lot better.

As said before, I still need to work on this (and I have found more material on how to do proper demos) but it was quite better than the first time.

I also got a lot of feedback and I was very pleased with how we were aligned the same way on a few key things!

Yes!

They informed me that this is looking promising and will gladly try it out and provide feedback on stuff they notice as well as things they want to change.

All in All, Clubs Craft has one more club as an early adopter and I am looking forward to getting a lot more information in the coming future.

Until then,
Stay awesome
